TL;DR
Uncharted - Legacy of Thieves Collection shines on PC, but only if your rig can handle it. Expect stunning 4K/60fps with a high-end graphics card like an RTX 3080, but lower specs might mean a less fluid experience than on PS5. While mouse and keyboard controls are an option, a gamepad is a must for that authentic Uncharted feel, and one with vibration will greatly enhance gameplay. We have previously reviewed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy individually, and then again upon the release of the Uncharted – Legacy of Thieves Collection for Playstation 5 last winter. Therefore, this review will focus specifically on the experience of playing the collection on PC.

As Uncharted – Legacy of Thieves Collection is optimized for consoles, a reasonably powerful PC configuration, particularly the graphics card, is necessary for optimal performance. The test system featured 128GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 3080, allowing Uncharted – Legacy of Thieves Collection to run flawlessly at 4K resolution and 60fps with all textures and effects enabled.

The minimum specified requirements include 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 960, which will yield a 30fps experience at 720p, below Full HD resolution. Consequently, on less powerful hardware, the gaming experience will not be as visually impressive or fluid compared to the Playstation 5.
During testing, no performance issues were encountered, unlike some experiences reported on the Playstation 5. There was no noticeable lag or dropped frames. Loading times were also minimal, although this is contingent on the PC’s overall performance capabilities.

A gamepad is highly recommended for playing this collection on PC, as the games were designed with gamepad input in mind. While Uncharted – Legacy of Thieves Collection includes modifications to support mouse and keyboard controls, navigating and controlling the character proved to be significantly more challenging. This was particularly evident during climbing and combat sequences. Consequently, I abandoned the mouse/keyboard setup in favor of a gamepad. However, the gamepad used lacked vibration functionality, which made certain gameplay segments more difficult, especially the lock-picking challenges in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

In conclusion, Uncharted – Legacy of Thieves Collection delivers a comparable experience on PC to that of the Playstation, making it a worthwhile addition to any PC gamer’s library. However, prospective players should ensure they possess a sufficiently powerful PC and utilize a gamepad with vibration support to fully appreciate the games.
