Evaluating headphones can be subjective, influenced by individual preferences and price-performance expectations. Upon unboxing the Trust Zamak GXT 414 headphones, their aesthetic design immediately stood out. Having previously tested several headphones from Trust, I’ve found them generally comfortable, though sometimes lacking in design appeal. For example, the Trust Ironn headphones, which I reviewed previously, were comfortable but perhaps not ideal for public use due to their bulkier design.
The Trust Zamak GXT 414 headphones are primarily designed for gaming, with compatibility for Xbox, Playstation, Switch, and PC platforms. Furthermore, the inclusion of an in-line control button for mobile phone use is a welcome and often overlooked feature in other models.
The detachable microphone offers flexibility, allowing users to remove it when not required. Comfort is a key attribute; the headphones provide a relaxed fit, and extended use over several hours presented no discomfort.
Beyond comfort, practicality, and aesthetics, the Trust Zamak headphones deliver commendable audio quality. Testing across various scenarios, including gaming, movies, and phone calls, revealed a clear and crisp sound profile. However, compared to the Plantronics RIG 600LX, the bass response is somewhat lacking in depth. While the bass is adequate, it doesn’t provide the same level of impact. Additionally, the absence of surround sound may affect spatial awareness in games such as Division 2.
Overall, considering their price point of approximately 750 SEK at the time of this review, the Trust Zamak GXT 414 headphones offer good value. While not an absolute necessity, they warrant a solid recommendation.
