This review marks our third foray into Logitech’s Master Series. We began with the stylish and premium MX Master 3S mouse, which garnered positive feedback. Next, we evaluated the MX Mechanical keyboard, a robust and precise mechanical keyboard that also impressed us. Now, we turn our attention to another keyboard, the MX Keys S, distinguished by its low acoustic profile and understated aesthetic.
It’s time to deliver our verdict on the Logitech MX Keys S.
Overview
Initial images of the MX Keys S led us to believe it might appear less premium than its mechanical counterpart. However, upon handling the keyboard, we found its build quality to be equally impressive. An aluminum frame encases the scissor-switch keys, lending a premium feel. The functions, backlighting, and special keys are consistent with the MX Mechanical. The primary distinctions lie in the typing feel and sound profile. Notably, the MX Keys S is a low-profile keyboard without adjustable feet for altering the typing angle. Functionality remains consistent, offering a ten-day battery life under typical use, and up to five months with the backlight disabled, which intelligently activates when hands approach the keyboard.

Typing Experience with the Logitech MX Keys S
After extended use of the MX Mechanical, there was a brief adjustment period to the MX Keys S. The transition to low-profile, softer keys required some recalibration. Initially, this resulted in a few typos and a tendency to glance at the keyboard. However, this period was short-lived, and typing speed quickly returned to normal. The reduced force required for key presses and the shorter travel distance between keys contribute to a comfortable typing experience. The keyboard is remarkably quiet, and the key action is soft without feeling spongy or unstable.

Advantages
As previously mentioned, the MX Keys S operates with minimal noise, producing only faint clicks, if any. The low profile promotes a more ergonomic wrist position and facilitates placement under items like monitor stands or other peripherals. In this regard, the Logitech MX Keys S complements the MX Master 3S effectively. Both devices prioritize quiet operation, exhibit a sleek design, and convey a sense of premium quality. In comparison, the MX Mechanical can feel somewhat bulky.
Disadvantages
The MX Keys S offers slightly less precision, making it somewhat more challenging to type without accidental key presses. Consequently, it may not be the optimal choice for gaming. While subjective, we observed that the mechanical keys provided clearer tactile feedback. Beyond this, there are few significant drawbacks.
Software and Features of the Logitech MX Keys S
The MX Keys S benefits from the comprehensive and adaptable Logi Options+ software suite. Of particular note is Logi FLOW, which, as highlighted in our previous reviews, enables seamless workflow management across three devices via the device selector buttons. The functionality can be likened to managing multiple displays connected to a single computer, extended to encompass multiple devices and operating systems (Logi FLOW supports Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS, iOS, and Android). When paired with the Logitech MX Master 3S, Logi FLOW truly shines, allowing users to drag the mouse cursor between “screens,” seamlessly transitioning between computers and automatically switching keyboard input.

Conclusion: Logitech MX Keys S
Logitech has consistently impressed us with the offerings from its Master series. The products are refined, thoughtfully designed, and aesthetically pleasing. The MX Keys S is also available in a silver colorway that complements macOS setups. Furthermore, the mini variant of the keyboard offers an even wider range of color options.
The Logitech MX Keys S offers a blend of style and smooth performance. Its substantial weight prevents unwanted movement during use. The quiet operation makes it suitable for any environment, and it is replete with features and subtle refinements.
Regarding price, the MX Keys S is positioned approximately 500 SEK lower than the MX Mechanical, retailing for around 1,100 SEK. This price point seems justified, considering the premium build quality and the comprehensive functionality offered by the Logitech MX Keys S.
