Review: Logitech – G335

av Henric Brandt

We previously reviewed the wireless G733 headphones from Logitech. Now, we’ve received the G335, positioned as a more budget-friendly alternative, for evaluation. Upon unboxing, the initial impression is that the G335 exhibits a more plastic construction compared to the G733. However, the headphones provide a comfortable and lightweight fit. The earcups are well-designed and comfortable, although the frame feels somewhat flexible. The microphone features a standard flip-to-mute function: rotating upwards mutes the microphone, while rotating downwards activates it. The microphone arm, however, gives a slightly delicate impression. During testing, accidental over-extension of the microphone arm resulted in bending, although it returned to its original position. The long-term durability of this mechanism is a potential concern.

Unlike the G733, the G335 is a wired headset. An included adapter facilitates connection to PCs with separate audio input and output jacks. Initial testing involved music playback, beginning with Heart upon my sleeve by Avicii. The audio reproduction was clear and well-defined during the song’s quieter passages. However, the difference in audio profile compared to higher-end headsets became apparent when the bass frequencies increased. While the bass response is adequate, it lacks the depth and power expected from full-size headphones, even considering the G335’s price point. The bass presence felt somewhat restrained, impacting the overall listening experience.

The next test assessed call quality. When connected to a mobile phone via an adapter (sold separately), the G335 provided satisfactory voice reproduction. The recipient reported clear audio, even in moderately noisy environments. Notably, the cable lacks an inline control module, meaning phone functions must be managed directly on the device.

The primary evaluation focused on gaming performance. Outriders was selected as the test title. The wired connection delivered accurate and lag-free audio. An easily accessible volume control is located on the headset, facilitating quick adjustments during gameplay. However, the G335 lacks a game/chat audio balance feature.

The G335 is part of Logitech’s color collection, and the white version provided for this review is arguably one of the more aesthetically pleasing options. Weighing in at 240 grams, the headset is remarkably lightweight, contributing to a comfortable experience during extended gaming sessions.

In conclusion, the G335 presents a viable wired alternative to the wireless G733. While the audio quality is generally clear and pleasant, the somewhat subdued bass response is a consideration. Overall, the G335 offers good value for its price point and warrants consideration for budget-conscious users.
