On November 1, 2024, LEGO released the largest X-Men set to date: the X-men: X-Mansion, identified by product number 76294. This set is a highly anticipated addition for enthusiasts of Marvel’s iconic mutants. Comprising a total of 3093 pieces, the build offers a substantial and engaging experience. Notably, the set includes 24 numbered bags, presenting the option to construct it incrementally as an advent calendar throughout December – a test of patience we, admittedly, couldn’t resist.

Teamwork Enhances the Building Experience
Mirroring the collaborative spirit of the X-Men, this set facilitates teamwork. The instruction manuals are thoughtfully divided into three sections, and LEGO’s intuitive app provides clear, step-by-step guidance. The app features 3D animations for each stage of the build, enhancing clarity and accessibility. This feature was particularly well-received by our younger testers, who found the interactive interface engaging.

Important: Inspect the Bags Thoroughly
In line with LEGO’s commitment to sustainability, the bags are now constructed from paper with a plastic-like interior. During our build, we observed that certain pieces, especially window components, tended to adhere to the inside of the bags. We recommend carefully inspecting each bag before disposal to prevent inadvertently discarding any parts.
The Significance of Detail
Beyond the assembly instructions, the manuals incorporate interesting lore and facts about Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, enhancing the experience for X-Men aficionados. The set includes two sticker sheets, which are easy to manipulate and apply. The majority of the stickers, featuring straightforward shapes such as rectangles and squares, are particularly simple to position accurately.

While the LEGO X-Mansion isn’t built in a day, the construction process is surprisingly manageable despite the 3093 pieces. The model is divided into three distinct sections, each focusing on different areas of the mansion. Hidden Easter eggs and intricate details are integrated throughout the build, adding an element of discovery and excitement.
Although the LEGO X-Mansion is recommended for builders aged 18 and above, we believe it’s also suitable for younger, experienced LEGO enthusiasts. The build complexity is well-balanced, and some builders might even desire a slightly greater challenge to prolong the enjoyment of the construction process. The sweet spot lies in appreciating the building experience while anticipating the final result.

Ten LEGO Minifigures and a Detailed Interior
The set includes ten minifigures: Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, and Bishop. The X-Mansion features ample surfaces for minifigure placement, encouraging imaginative scenarios. These figures can be positioned on the manicured lawn surrounding the mansion, among other locations.
Charles Xavier’s school presents a magnificent and imposing exterior, bearing subtle signs of battle damage. The stately mansion embodies classic New York architecture. However, the true magic resides within the model, where intricate details and engaging features await discovery. The LEGO X-Mansion is divided into three sections with removable roofs and floors, granting convenient access to various areas of the building. Explore familiar environments like the Danger Room, Beast’s laboratory, and the classroom. Furthermore, integrated mechanisms allow for simulated explosions and reconfigurations, enhancing the playability of the set.

A Fitting Tribute to the X-Men
The LEGO X-Mansion is a distinguished set for both X-Men and LEGO enthusiasts. With meticulous details, a comprehensive selection of minifigures, and a design that encourages both engagement and entertainment, this set offers broad appeal to children and adults alike.
The set’s price point is within the mid-range for large LEGO sets, and its collector’s value is evident. This model not only pays homage to the X-Men but does so with style and authenticity. If you are a Marvel fan, this is a building experience you won’t want to miss.
