Twisted Minds, a UAE-based company, specializes in gaming monitors, stands, and accessories designed for the gaming community. Twisted Minds’ aims to redefine gaming accessories, leveraging innovative concepts to enhance affordability. In this review, we examine the Twisted Minds 27″ FHD Monitor (100 IPS), a screen that Twisted Minds describes as “an excellent first gaming screen or as an extra screen for the existing rig.” Initial observations regarding inputs and resolution support this description. Our first impression is that this monitor presents a solid, straightforward option within its price range. Let’s delve into the details.
From the Box
Upon unboxing, the monitor’s design immediately stands out. It features a clean and relatively minimalist aesthetic for a gaming monitor, unlike, for example, the ASUS ROG STRIX XG27UQ. The absence of LED lighting or prominent logos on either the front or back panel contributes to this understated appearance. Only a discreet TM logo at the bottom center betrays its intended gaming purpose. This subtle design allows it to integrate seamlessly into an office environment, which we consider a positive attribute. The stand is easily assembled, and the package includes a power cord and an HDMI cable.

The simplicity extends to its connectivity options. The monitor features only two ports: HDMI and VGA. The HDMI port supports version 1.4, a legacy standard introduced in 2009, but sufficient for the monitor’s FHD (Full HD 1080p) resolution. However, the inclusion of a VGA port, instead of a DisplayPort or a secondary HDMI input, is somewhat surprising. While a VGA port might be useful for older computers, it’s rarely found on modern laptops from the past decade. Consequently, using the monitor with both a desktop and a modern laptop simultaneously may prove challenging, unless one of them has a VGA output.

Located on the lower right side, the control buttons offer quick access to various functions. These include input switching between HDMI and VGA, preset screen modes, and the Twisted Minds GamePlus feature, which provides a choice of four crosshair overlays for FPS games.

The monitor also incorporates two speakers, a feature less common in contemporary displays. While the audio quality is adequate, the 3.5mm output appears to utilize a basic DAC. The resulting sound profile lacks depth and bass, potentially diminishing the overall gaming experience. (Although most gamers utilize dedicated headphones, omitting the built-in speakers could have resulted in a lower price point.)
Twisted Minds 27″ FHD 100 IPS – The Image
The Twisted Minds 27FHD100IPS features a 27” FullHD (1920×1080) display with a 100Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time, and IPS panel technology. Let’s examine the implications of these specifications.
The IPS panel technology largely defines the monitor’s capabilities. Modern IPS panels deliver excellent color reproduction and viewing angles, combined with a fast 1ms response time (the time it takes for a pixel to change color). This makes the screen, as Twisted Minds suggests, a suitable secondary display, especially when positioned vertically (though an aftermarket stand is required for angled placement). This application aligns well with the monitor’s input options and overall performance.
The Twisted Minds 27″ FHD also functions adequately as a primary display. Colors are rendered clearly and dynamically, and while sharpness isn’t exceptional, it’s acceptable for its price bracket. At 27 inches, the FHD resolution approaches the threshold where individual pixels become noticeable, but the image remains sufficiently sharp.
Things We Don’t Like About Twisted Minds 27 FHD
The image quality is as advertised, delivering the promised FHD resolution. However, other aspects are less satisfactory. The location of the connectors, positioned far down on the rear panel, causes them to extend beyond the lower edge. This design prevents neat cable management along the stand. Furthermore, the monitor lacks height or tilt adjustability, portrait mode support, and, as previously mentioned, offers limited input options.

Summary Twisted Minds 27 FHD 100 IPS
Before our final assessment, it’s important to acknowledge that the Twisted Minds 27″ FHD delivers on its advertised features. It serves as a suitable entry-level gaming screen, a secondary monitor, or a viable option for users with older systems or budget constraints who don’t require 4K resolution. It also offers a more contemporary design, eliminating the bulky bezels of older monitors.

The Twisted Minds 27FHD100IPS is a basic monitor with a limited feature set. The primary concern is its price. At 2,000 kronor, it’s relatively expensive for a screen with specifications that have been available for several years, with comparable monitors often priced 500 to 1,000 kronor lower. The 1ms response time is a notable feature at this price point, but for a few hundred to a thousand kronor more, monitors with 0.5ms response times are available (although the difference is often imperceptible). A slightly higher budget also unlocks more inputs, a more recent HDMI version, and other features that enhance usability.
While suitable as an entry-level monitor, the price should reflect that positioning, which currently isn’t the case.
