As a frequent traveler for work, I require a streamlined, adaptable, and lightweight solution for maintaining productivity on the go. My current mobile setup includes an iPad Pro 13-inch, the keys-to-go 2 from Logitech, and the subject of today’s review, the Yvi+ Multi mouse from Trust.
The Yvi+ Multi from Trust features a compact design, measuring 57 mm x 95 mm x 40 mm and weighing 84 grams. While lighter mice are available, the Yvi+ Multi’s slightly increased weight offers a degree of stability, which I will discuss further.
The Yvi+ Multi provides dual connectivity options for computers and tablets: a 2.4 GHz wireless connection via the included USB dongle (which conveniently stores within the mouse itself) and Bluetooth. A dedicated button on the underside initiates Bluetooth pairing. I primarily tested the mouse with an iPad, and the connection process was seamless. The addition of a mouse significantly enhances tablet usability, providing a more traditional desktop experience and eliminating the need for direct screen interaction.
The primary buttons offer tactile feedback with minimal audible click. The scroll wheel also serves as a middle-click button. A dedicated DPI button on the top allows for on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments, up to a maximum of 1600 DPI. Given the mouse’s compact dimensions, the absence of additional buttons is a practical design choice, minimizing accidental clicks.
Despite having relatively large hands, I found the mouse comfortable to use. The height and weight contribute to a secure and ergonomic grip.
The Yvi+ Multi is available in a range of colors and offered at a competitive price point. It exhibits reliable performance on various surfaces, negating the need for a mousepad. Power is supplied by a single AA battery, with the manufacturer claiming a battery life of approximately one year. However, actual battery life is contingent on the brand and quality of the battery used.
Due to its precision and responsiveness limitations, the Yvi+ Multi is not recommended for gaming. Its compact size may also prove uncomfortable during extended gaming sessions. I also observed a slight delay in Bluetooth reconnection after periods of inactivity, requiring manual intervention to re-establish the connection. This is a notable drawback compared to other Bluetooth devices that offer quicker reconnection times. Specifically, reactivating the connection required pressing the Bluetooth button; simply turning the mouse on was insufficient.
In conclusion, the Yvi+ Multi from Trust is a recommended option for users seeking a compact, convenient, and budget-friendly mouse for mobile productivity. Its portability makes it well-suited for on-the-go professionals. A more responsive Bluetooth reconnection would elevate its overall rating.
