Thai Urnique Studio launched Timelie in May of this year, and a free DLC, Hell Loop, is now available. In Timelie, players guide a young girl and her feline companion through a series of rooms patrolled by hostile robots. Gameplay revolves around the cat’s ability to distract enemies and the core mechanic of time manipulation.

The player can preview enemy movements by fast-forwarding time. If detected, the timeline can be rewound to a point before discovery, allowing for strategic adjustments. While the concept appears straightforward, coordinating actions across both characters while managing the timeline presents a significant challenge. Successfully solving puzzles may require substantial rewinding and iterative planning from the beginning.

Timelie is currently available on Mac and PC. While functional on these platforms, the game’s mechanics would translate well to mobile devices. The ability to engage with the game in short bursts while commuting, for example, would be a welcome addition.

Timelie offers an engaging and challenging experience within its genre. The core gameplay loop is entertaining and provides considerable value, further enhanced by the free Hell Loop DLC, which adds approximately ten hours of content. A minor drawback is the potential for the time manipulation mechanic to become somewhat repetitive. Introducing additional gameplay elements could diversify the experience. Furthermore, some graphical anomalies were encountered, which were resolved upon restarting the game.

In conclusion, Timelie is a worthwhile title. Addressing the aforementioned minor issues would elevate it to a truly essential purchase.
